During our sleep we tend to fidget and our hair can get a little knotty, hence the phrase “Bed-Head”. Hair Extensions like Tapes, Nanos, Micro-Rings and Weaves you should loosely braid your hair before bed to minimise the matting caused by movement in your sleep. Another plus of wearing a loose braid to bed is that you wake up with gorgeous, natural waves when the braid is untied, reducing the need to style with heat. We also advise to sleep on a satin pillowcase as it is softer against the hair extensions which reduces frizz and damage.

Your hair should be at least 3-4Inches long to wear hair extensions and be able to cover them well.

We wouldn't recommend dying your hair whilst you have extensions attached. Firstly, the dye will degrade the bonds or seams causing them to possibly slip out of the hair. You can also end up with residue stuck in the rings or attachments which can cause bacteria to form which leads to scalp irritation.

With ANY hair extension system, you must take care of them in between install and maintenance AFTERCARE is so important and that is up to you on how you look after them! Shampoo & Conditioner- Look for Sulfate-free shampoo and conditioners that are specifically formulated for dry or damaged hair.
Extensions tend to be drier than our natural hair, so using nourishing oils + serums or a moisturizing mask are great ways to add moisture back into your extensions.

Beware of high street shampoos – many contain silicone, which is not good for the extensions and if used regularly will gradually soften and break down the bonds. Clients who use recommended hair extension shampoo rarely experience problems with their bonds. Also remember your hair extensions aren't cheap, so why would you want to buy cheap hair care products? your hair is your investment so invest in good products.

Do
Wear a loose ponytail/bun or braids before going to bed to prevent tangling.
Sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase to reduce friction and breakage.
Brush often, and detangle each morning + before bed at night.
Place your hand at the top of your weft/row to avoid extreme pulling or tugging when brushing.
Wash 2X a week for optimal scalp health, double shampooing is highly recommended, rinse REALLY well.
Only use sulfate-free shampoos/conditioners and professional styling products recommended by your stylist.
Oil your mids + ends to keep hair from becoming dry and brittle.

Don'ts
Never go to bed with wet hair.
Heat styling too often can cause your extensions to become dry and brittle.
Leaving your hair in a bun or ponytail for multiple days can cause excessive tangling and matting. Always take your hair down at the beginning + end of every day.
Avoid sunscreens with avobenzone which can discolour blonde extensions.
Skip using strengthening or keratin building products all together. Instead, focus on moisture rich salon professional products only.

When your hair is wet it is at its weakest, therefore it is very important to be patient and gentle when brushing your wet hair extensions. Using your detangle hair extension brush, work your way from the tips of the hair up to the roots, slowly detangling as you go. Now that you have perfect long, thick hair, you may find that you feel you need to brush your hair more regularly either because you enjoy it, or you feel you need to. Keeping your hair extension hair brush handy at all times will allow you to care for your hair extension on the go, especially if you are unlucky enough to be caught in a big gust of wind or the rain. Treat your hair and buy a brolly hehe.
